I need to get a laptop to use for data acquisition software and data collecting instruments (mainly using NI LabVIEW 2010). I know how to back up files but sometimes when it askes me to save my files it will say something like save it to hard drive or the external one (iomega). I recently received bids from two fraternities (not saying which ones to avoid biased people) A and B. What should I look for the most when choosing between the two? I am going to be a Sophomore Business/Comp science major this year and both A and B are full so I don't need to live in either house. On the social and athletic tiers they are about the same with B having better GPA. I went to parties at both and got along great with both houses of guys. Both have decent alumni, have 50 or so actives, and cost about the same to belong to. Are there any other factors I should consider? Recently there has been a lot of death around me. Since then every show that comes on tv has some to do with death in it or all the songs I hear have to do with death. Hi, my question is about dream interpretation. I realised that my dreams do indicate to future events when I was 20, now Im 27 and I am able to understand some of my dreams but not all. I just recieved a letter in the mail from TriCare stating that I have a $3,840 claim that I owe. I didn't even know I was on TriCare. What is going on? I used to live with my uncle in Texas (when I was 12 I am now 21) who was retired from the military and i'm assuming this is the insurance he had me on back then but why am I getting letters from them? I don't even have a military I.D. anymore and I have never told any of my healthcare providers to charge anything to TriCare. Was my uncle supposed to let them know that I moved back to my mom's when I was 14 and that I was no longer living with him? Someone please help me as I have no idea what is going on. It says that *I* had medical services and an x-ray done on 6-24-10. I was pregnant at the time and did NOT have any type of x-ray done. My husband was injured at work and had an x-ray done on that date but it was all covered by Pinnacol through worker's comp. Why is TriCare claiming I had medical services done when infact it was my husband and NOT me? What is going on? Computer stuck on Windows loading screen?

My buddies computer is stuck on the windows loading screen (the one with the green loading bar at the bottom). it was working earlier but i tried to pull some stuff off MY old hard drive on his computer and it didnt work... since then it wont load the OS. F8 does nothing.. F11 only brings up Floppy, CD drive, and HDD boot options... and then F2 is just the bios. I tried removing the CMOS battery and it did nothing. Another buddy said it was a memory problem, but when it load up it says the 3528MB of memory is OK.. .also the comp. has 4GB of memory so its not showing the appropriate amount ( maybe the MOBOs max supported tho) any suggestions?

Problem with my computer's time settings?

I had to PC restore my computer (wipe it back to factory-fresh setting) because of a bad rootkit/virus problem about a week ago. My comp is working fine now, but the time is skewered, it says it's 6 AM when it's really 7, etc. I think it's a daylight savings/standard time problem the computer isn't catching, but whenever I change the time back it doesn't save. i'm only 12 years old but i still am really worried about my future. my parents already hve a set future for me, that i HATE so much. they want me to be a doctor when i grow up, and honestly, i'm not even that smart, i HATE science, i cant dissect a dead body, im to scared to even go to a CEMETERY. i like art, singing, dancing, acting, designing, and soccer. and when i made a joke about wanting to become an actress my dad went MENTAL. honestly. i have two older sisters,and they want ALL of us to be doctors. they stress us out, and i've seen what they do to my 20 year old sister. they ignored her for a good 8 months, just because she said she wanted to be a dentist. my mom is understanding, but i could feel the dissapointment that she has. and my dad, oh god i cant even TALK to him without him yelling in my face about how he f***ing can't wait to see me wash toilets on the street (he's being sarcastic). and when i tell him, just because i dont want to be a doctor, doesnt mean i won't earn anything...he gets REALLY pissed off. i'm just so confused and i dont want to be a doctor and i dont want to have a set life. we can't date, we can't hang out with guys, we cant marry who we want. i dont care about that but the fact that my dream of becoming a singer is just as realistic as me wanting to be a doctor when i grow up, makes me want to cry. i love my parents to death, they do so much for us. and i don't want to dissapoint them or i dont want them to ignore me the rest of my life. and if i "make my own decision", then they won't pay for my college probably or ever look at me again.

I found a lost cemetery. What should I do?

Today while working in a hay field I looked and saw what I thought was a stone sticking up out of the ground so I went to pick it up and get it out of the hay field and discovered it was a headstone. I looked around and started finding several headstones and foot markers buried under the dirt. Most are from the early to mid 1800's. As long as I can remember nobody ever knew it was there. I sure didn't. I think it is sad that such a large cemetery has been lost in time and now that I know its there I sure don't want to drive tractors and machinery over the graves. Is there someone I can report it to? Like a society that looks for lost graveyards? I think all the tombstones should be dug up out of the ground and stood upright again and a fence built around it. I know these people have to have decendants who have no clue where there great grandparents and aunts and uncles are buried. They should be told somehow and I dont know how to find them.

Internet speed with wifi router?

K this is gonna be sorta long. I have a cradlepoint mbr1000 router, Sprint 3g internet 1.5mbps avg dl speed (just checked) A ps3 thats hooked up wirelessly. Heres my question my psn friend has 1.6 mbps avg dl speed and can dl a game demo in about 1 hour it takes me about 3 to 5 hours. He told me he did something to his router to increase the speed. Anyone have expiernce or know how to do that with my router? I turned of media center on my ps3 and its still really slow(i heard it helps). Also i downloaded me2 on my Comp. i speed tested and had about a 1.3mbps but i only dled at 180kbps. You won't need watercooling, its a waste of money imo. 60c is normal for CPU under load temperatures. As for the graphics card, temperatures under load depends on how new it is. Older graphics cards were terrible at cooling, but the newer ones are decent. With the exception of 560's and 6970's, which can get quite hot. Regardless, 70c is fine. Computer chips will melt at 160-200c. Their designed to shut off at 110c, to prevent that happening. Instead of buying a water cooling system, just grab a new case for half the price. Do your research, figure out which ones have good airflow, features etc.

Blue light jumping in and out of the ground?

i live in a big apartment complex surrounding an small, old cemetery, i just moved here about 3 or 4 months ago, and my bedroom faces said cemetery, about 40 minutes ago i was (and still am) talking to my best friend on the phone, i was looking outside my window because i thought i saw someone with a flashlight roaming around the cemetery (which is common) so i put on my gasses to see what they were doing out there, they seemed to go under a tree, no big deal so while talking to my friend i kept looking out the window, about 15 minutes after i saw this person i saw this weird little blue light jump out of the ground and back in, like a rabbit jumping from point A to point B, but instead of just jumping it disappeared into nowhere the same way it came out of nowhere, at this point i was thinking it was just an illusion, we all see stuff like that, a second or two later, it did the same exact thing, jumped as if from one hole to another just disappearing, at this point i was freaking out, and every couple seconds it was jumping to get to.......where ever it was going, not in a straight line either, but in a weird pattern, i cant really explain it, at one point it got to this bush, and it kind of went around the bush zig-zagy then off to this tree on the other side of the cemetery, i looked this up everywhere, and ill keep looking harder, it was about 12:30-1:00 AM when i saw it but i was sitting up in bed, wide awake, that's why i'm kind of freaking out here, i've never really been one to believe in ghosts or spirits for that matter, and i know this couldn't have been someone playing with a light or something because the garage shines over the grave yard so you can see things somewhat clearly, and it looked like a huge blue extremely shiny lightning bug just jumping in and out of the ground, i just want to know what it could be, if there's some kind of bug, or weird animal that does this, or even if anyone else has seen the same thing, please tell me, because i want to know if this was real, and if what i saw other people have seen gahhhhhh i'm not going to be able to sleep tonight, ill keep looking out for it, if i find anything related to this i'll post it on here i guess, whatever, i just have to know, curiosity is human nature...unfortunately.

Computer surge... computer turns on but then fails?

Okey so a couple of days ago i posted a question asking about a Computer Surge... no one helped... so i decided to work on my comp. on my own... i replaced the Power Supply... the Computer TURNS ON... the CPU fan TURNS ON... but then after a couple of seconds it turns off... what is this due to..? i have a Hunch its the Hard Drive... need help ASAP (:

Sims 3 Ps3 Headstone?

How come on the sims 3 for the ps3 when my sim dies i don't get any gravestone or ashes. I get nothing. My sim then turns into a ghost (playable) and you decided whether you want to play the ghost or if the sim goes to the netherworld. I checked everywhere for it. Its not in the cemetery or the cemetery mausoleum like everyone says; There is no "manage dead" option either. I HAVE CHECKED ALL THE INVENTORIES. My parents died in an accident 5 years ago. They were rushing to hospital where my sister was admitted because she passed out in her dorm. It was one of those moments in your life that couldn't be forgotten. My sister had yet to wake up when we buried our parents, and when she finally did she was just sat there motionless, and didn't say a thing. Until today she has never visited our parents grave. Instead, she signed up for a job that requires her to travel the world constantly. Though she keeps on checking on me and come home for christmas, even when we go for christmas service she doesn't even spare a glance at the cemetery (we have to pass it if we go to church). I couldn't understand her attitude, and honestly, I'm pretty offended by her behaviour, it's as if she doesn't give a damn about our parents. Do u think so?

Win XP - 3GB RAM , 2GB showing up!?

I have a 32 - bit XP SP3 and I know about the limits, about 3.2GB or something yeah? CPU-Z shows 3GB RAM, system tools show 3GB Physical memory but system information in My Comp.-View Sys. Info-2GB RAM only showing. I really want the 3GB to be used because I know it is possible. My motherboard is: GA-P31-DS3L (rev 1.0) if it helps. How can I change the 2GB to 3GB because I want the extra GB for games. I wont see any performance improvement in games will I? If XP wont show 3GB, but 2. HELPPP HOOOWW ??

I was driving in three lane traffic on the highway,I was the third car.The first car had stopped in the lane of taffic to use his cell phone,causing car two to hit him and the guard rail and me to hit car two. Why does my computer get choppy when watching certain movies?

Basically i use my comp to watch movies when i'm bored, and recently mainly on 2 720p and 1080p movies it has gotten choppy to the point where i see like 1 frame every 5 seconds..I did this on my old comp and it worked fine exept the same thing happened with avatar on 1080p, but every other one worked, now on my new one the 2 hi def movies i got don't work either, i thought it could be the fact they're hi def and maybe it ws to much on the video card, but the same thing happened on my last comp with just one movie, and the others work, They are all downloaded, no streaming, all on a blueray player i have, and this is the first time, so far no hd videos work on this pc, but i've only tried 2, on my last comp only 1 didn't work and others did. any ideas?

Possibly you've killed the first chip with static. You probably didn't earth yourself did you? The BIOS will try to read the first slot and fail hence no boot. When you move it to slot 3 (or 4) it will read the RAM in slot 2 but not the dead one in slot 3. It'll be the same if you remove the dead one completely.

Viruses are created by hackers, and they can only traffic them through the internet, unless they put them on usb flash drives and toss them in the street or something.
